Every new zone in Forever, and where it sits in the 1-60 journey

Four new zones, nine dungeons and three raids opening December 9. Blizzard's latest details fill in the names and level ranges.

Forever adds places to explore throughout the 1–60 journey. Blizzard's latest launch overview names Mount Hyjal, Zephras Isle, the Riverglades and Shen'dralas.

The dungeon names and level ranges below are now confirmed too, replacing the early list we put together from the BlizzCon press kit.

Zephras Isle — levels 1 to 12

Wind-worn houses and trees on Zephras Isle, the floating Skyborne starting zone

The Skyborne starting zone: a floating island built on the Skywall palette, with failing structures and isolated communities as its theme. Skyborne of both factions begin here before continuing into Azeroth proper.

Shen'dralas

A misty valley in Shen'dralas with ancient night elf ruins among the trees

Tucked between Mulgore and Desolace. This is the one that will excite lore readers: it centres on the Shen'dralar, features Highborne Prince Tortheldrin, and continues the Gelkis and Magram centaur tribal storylines that vanilla left half-finished.

Geographically it knits together Dire Maul, Razorfen Downs and Maraudon — three dungeons that never had a connecting overworld.

The Riverglades — mid-30s to mid-40s

A large dual-faction zone on the Eastern Kingdoms' east coast, bounded by Redridge Mountains, the Burning Steppes, the Badlands and the Swamp of Sorrows. Blizzard lists over 150 quests on its own, with both human and orc settlements and a neutral goblin port — so expect contested-zone world PvP by design.

It also contains Krol'dok Stronghold, an ogre dungeon in the 40–45 range.

Mount Hyjal — endgame

A shrine over still water in Mount Hyjal, lit purple beneath enormous trees with wisps drifting above the surface

Set after Archimonde's defeat, with the forest in recovery. This is the level-60 zone: multiple questlines, several reputations to grind, and a mix of solo and group content. Players approach it through Darkwhisper Gorge.

Hyjal carries both new raids. Onyxia's Lair in Dustwallow Marsh joins them when raiding opens:

Raid Size
Barrow Deeps 10 players
Hyjal Summit 20 players
Onyxia's Lair 40 players

All three unlock on December 9, 2026, with weekly resets planned. Onyxia still requires the Drakefire Amulet attunement.

Dalaran returns

The city of Dalaran rendered in Forever

The City of Dalaran dungeon is for levels 28–33 in the Alterac Mountains. You'll need to complete an attunement questline before entering.

All nine dungeons, named

Blizzard has published the full lineup of nine new five-player dungeons:

Dungeon Levels Location
Hall of Thanes 13–18 Beneath Ironforge
Ruins of Lordaeron 15–20 Tirisfal Glades
Excavation Site 24–29 Wetlands
City of Dalaran 28–33 Alterac Mountains
The Drowned City 35–40 Off Stranglethorn Vale
Krol'dok Stronghold 40–45 Riverglades
Alcaz Prison 48–53 Dustwallow Marsh
Blackmaw Hold 55–60 Azshara
Shaper's Terrace 58–60 Un'Goro Crater

The Hall of Thanes: a dark dwarven throne hall built around a central pool, lit by braziers

The Drowned City dungeon: a drained coastal ruin under a pale sky, with bare trees and the remains of a large sea creature

One correction to our original list: the furbolg dungeon is Blackmaw Hold in Azshara, rather than the Timbermaw tunnel between Felwood and Winterspring.
