General information

Legacy progression

Legacy Points are earned account-wide and spent per character across Professions, Adventure and Resourcefulness trees. 16 points at launch, 65 on the full track.

Legacy progression is Forever's answer to a problem every long-running Classic server hits: people love levelling alts, but the tenth trip through the same zones feels disconnected from everything the account has already achieved.

How it works

Legacy Points are earned account-wide, and spent per character.

You earn them by doing things across your whole account — levelling classes, reaching profession milestones, and other challenges. Every character then spends from that shared pool independently, in their own trees.

That combination is the clever part. Progress accumulates across your account, but two characters can spend the same pool in completely different ways.

The numbers

Points allocatable per character at launch 16
Total points on the full reward track 65

The gap between 16 and 65 is deliberate. You will earn far more than any single character can spend, which means the system is about choosing a direction for each character, not eventually unlocking everything.

The trees

Three have been shown:

  • Professions
  • Adventure
  • Resourcefulness

Several perks in these trees directly affect camping, so a character built around outdoor play and gathering can invest in making camps more useful, while a raider spends the same points elsewhere.

Why the per-character spending matters

Account-wide progression usually means account-wide power, which creates a problem: your tenth alt starts stronger than your first character ever was, and the levelling experience the game is built around stops working.

Splitting earning from spending avoids that. The account gets deeper over time, but each character still makes a limited, meaningful set of choices. A 16-point budget against a 65-point track is a build, not a checklist.

What we do not know

Blizzard has not published the full contents of any tree, the specific challenges that award points, or how the 65-point track is paced. The beta caps at level 30, which will only expose the earliest tier.
