- Mana Tide Totem moves earlier in the tree.
Shaman gets the most quality-of-life attention of any class in Forever, because totem management in Classic is genuinely miserable and Blizzard has finally admitted it.
Totems stop being a chore
Three changes address the same problem from different angles:
Call of the Elements drops four totems in one 3 second cast. In Classic, a full totem set is four separate global cooldowns, re-cast every time you move more than 20 yards or the fight enters a new phase.
Totemic Projection moves your existing totems up to 30 yards. That is the one that matters most in raids, where the boss moves and your totems do not.
Totemic Recall returns mana when you pick them up, which makes the whole system less punishing to use at all.
Taken together, this is the difference between totems being a tactical layer and being a tax you pay every pull.
Fire Nova becoming an instant 30-yard spell rather than a totem you drop and wait to detonate is part of the same cleanup.
Enhancement gets two-handers for free
Two-handed weapon specialisation being baseline is a big deal for levelling and for gearing. In Classic it is a deep Enhancement talent, which means any Shaman not fully committed to the tree cannot use the two-handed maces and axes that drop constantly at low levels.
Rage of the Farseer granting 30% haste for 25 seconds is a serious burst cooldown for a spec that had almost none, and Maelstrom Weapon reducing Lightning Bolt cast time gives Enhancement the melee-into-caster hybrid loop that made it popular in later expansions.
Ghost Wolf being usable indoors is a small thing that every Shaman has wanted since 2004.
Restoration gains Riptide
Riptide — an instant heal that also leaves a heal over time — gives Restoration something to cast while moving. Classic Resto Shaman is Chain Heal and Lesser Healing Wave, both hard casts, which makes movement-heavy fights disproportionately punishing.
Mana Tide Totem moving earlier means it is reachable without going deep, which matters because Mana Tide is the single most valuable thing a Shaman brings to a raid group.
Elemental gets Lava Burst
Lava Burst and Lightning Overload together give Elemental a proc-driven rotation rather than Lightning Bolt spam. Elemental in Classic is one button and a mana bar.
