Talent changes by tree

Balance

  • Eclipse reduces Starfire cast time.
  • Balance of Nature rewards alternating spell types.
  • Insect Swarm is added to the Balance tree.

Feral

  • Mangle is added to the Bear Form toolkit.
  • Berserk capstone removes the Mangle cooldown in Bear Form and hits up to 3 enemies.
  • Berserk also increases critical strike chance in Cat Form.

Restoration

  • Wild Growth is introduced as an area heal over time.
  • Swiftmend moves earlier in the tree.
  • Gift of the Earthmother reduces the global cooldown on healing abilities.

Druid is the class that benefits most from Forever's "make the tax baseline" philosophy, because Druid in Classic pays more taxes than anyone.

Omen of Clarity baseline changes every spec

Omen of Clarity is a Feral talent in Classic. That means a Balance or Restoration Druid either spends points outside their tree to get it, or goes without one of the best sustain effects in the game.

Making it baseline for all three specs is worth more to Balance and Restoration than any single talent in their own trees. It is the cleanest example of Forever removing a cross-tree tax.

Nature's Grasp going baseline does the same thing for PvP utility.

Bear Form becomes a real tank

Classic Bear Form has a genuine problem: it has almost no buttons. Maul, Swipe, Demoralizing Roar, and a threat rotation that amounts to spamming Maul while holding down enough Rage.

Mangle and Lacerate change that. Mangle is the ability that made Feral tanking playable in later expansions, and Berserk removing Mangle's cooldown while hitting up to three enemies turns it into a genuine AoE threat cooldown.

That Berserk also increases Cat Form critical strike chance is smart design: one capstone that serves both halves of a hybrid spec, rather than forcing Feral players to choose which form their 31-point talent supports.

Cat Form inherits smooth energy

Cat Form receiving the same continuous energy regeneration as Rogues is consistent and correct — Feral Cat has always shared the Rogue resource model, including its tick-counting problems.

Restoration gains Wild Growth

Wild Growth gives Restoration an area heal over time, filling the class's biggest gap. Classic Resto is Rejuvenation, Regrowth and Healing Touch — all single target. Group damage means casting Rejuvenation on five people one at a time.

Gift of the Earthmother reducing the global cooldown on healing is subtle but significant: Druid healing is throttled by GCDs more than by mana, because so much of the kit is instant.

Balance gets Eclipse

Eclipse reducing Starfire cast time, plus Balance of Nature rewarding alternation, gives Moonkin a rotation instead of a single spell. Insect Swarm moving into the Balance tree gives it a DoT to weave.

One removal worth noting

Cure Poison is gone, leaving only Abolish Poison. Minor, but it is a rare case of Forever deleting something rather than adding.
