Subscription and pricing
Forever is included with the standard World of Warcraft subscription. No separate purchase is required to play it, and no separate subscription either.
World of Warcraft: Forever is included in the standard World of Warcraft subscription. No additional purchase is necessary to play it.
This is the single most misunderstood point about Forever, so to be explicit:
- You do not buy Forever as a product to play it.
- You do not pay a second subscription on top of your existing one.
- One subscription covers modern WoW, Classic and Forever.
Then what are the paid packs for?
The editions buy three things:
- The Skyborne race. This genuinely is gated behind the $29.99 Heroic Pack or higher. If you want to play Forever's new race, you must buy in.
- Beta access, from the $59.99 Epic Pack upward.
- Cosmetics — mounts, pets, tabards, housing decor — and Warcraft III: Reforged in the top tier.
None of that is required to create a character and play Forever at launch with the nine original classes and the existing races.
What a subscription costs
Forever does not change WoW's subscription pricing, which is unchanged from the existing structure. Blizzard has announced no Forever-specific rate.
Game Time in the packs
The Epic Pack and the Collection include 30 days of Game Time starting 4 November. That is a month of subscription bundled with the purchase, not a discount on an ongoing subscription.
