Zones

Every new zone in Forever, and where it sits in the 1-60 journey

Zephras Isle, Shen'dralas, the Riverglades and a restored Mount Hyjal, plus Dalaran's return as a hub city and the two new raids.

Forever's new zones are deliberately spread across the level range rather than stacked at the top. Each one fills a gap in the original 1–60 route where vanilla made you leave the continent or grind the same three zones again.

One thing to flag before the list: Blizzard's own announcement named three zones — Mount Hyjal, Zephras Isle and the Riverglades — while follow-up coverage from the show floor consistently reports a fourth, Shen'dralas. Treat the fourth as strongly reported rather than officially listed.

Zephras Isle — levels 1 to 12

Wind-worn houses and trees on Zephras Isle, the floating Skyborne starting zone

The Skyborne starting zone: a floating island built on the Skywall palette, with failing structures and isolated communities as its theme. Skyborne of both factions begin here before continuing into Azeroth proper.

Shen'dralas — roughly levels 30 to 50

A misty valley in Shen'dralas with ancient night elf ruins among the trees

Tucked between Mulgore and Desolace. This is the one that will excite lore readers: it centres on the Shen'dralar, features Highborne Prince Tortheldrin, and continues the Gelkis and Magram centaur tribal storylines that vanilla left half-finished.

Geographically it knits together Dire Maul, Razorfen Downs and Maraudon — three dungeons that never had a connecting overworld.

The Riverglades — roughly levels 40 to 55

A large dual-faction zone on the Eastern Kingdoms' east coast, bounded by Redridge Mountains, the Burning Steppes, the Badlands and the Swamp of Sorrows. Reported at over 150 quests on its own, with both human and orc settlements and a neutral goblin port — so expect contested-zone world PvP by design.

It also contains Krol'dok Stronghold, an outdoor ogre dungeon in the 40–55 range.

Mount Hyjal — endgame

Set after Archimonde's defeat, with the forest in recovery. This is the level-60 zone: multiple questlines, several reputations to grind, and a mix of solo and group content. Players approach it through Darkwhisper Gorge.

Hyjal carries both new raids:

Raid Size
Barrow Deeps 10 players
Hyjal Summit 20 players

A raid unlock is dated December 9, 2026, roughly five weeks after launch.

Dalaran returns

The city of Dalaran rendered in Forever

The City of Dalaran comes back as a hub city with interactive elements, NPC quests and a dungeon of its own. In vanilla, Dalaran was a purple bubble in the Alterac Mountains you could not enter.

All nine dungeons, named

Blizzard announced nine new dungeons but named almost none of them on stage. The official press kit fills the gap: its screenshot filenames cover exactly nine distinct dungeon environments.

Dungeon Notes
Alcaz Prison Alcaz Island, previously a single-quest location
Dalaran Inside the returning hub city
Drowned City A drained coastal ruin, sea-creature remains among the wreckage
Excavation Site
Hall of Thanes Dwarven throne hall built around a central pool
Krol'dok Stronghold Outdoor ogre dungeon in the Riverglades, levels 40–55
Lordaeron
Shaper Terrace
Timbermaw Hold Previously a furbolg tunnel connecting Felwood and Winterspring

The Hall of Thanes: a dark dwarven throne hall built around a central pool, lit by braziers

The Drowned City dungeon: a drained coastal ruin under a pale sky, with bare trees and the remains of a large sea creature

Two of these are notable as conversions. Timbermaw Hold was a tunnel you walked through to get between Felwood and Winterspring; Alcaz Island was a quest destination with no instance attached. Both are being promoted into full dungeons, which fits Forever's pattern of building out what vanilla left as scenery.

Treat this list as press-kit evidence rather than a formal announcement — the filenames are Blizzard's own, but the dungeons have not been individually confirmed on stage.
