Forever beta has ended: what to know before launch

The Forever beta is over. Blizzard confirmed its closure on October 23, with the team turning to launch fixes. This article originally covered getting into the September 17 beta; the next date to watch is the November 4 launch. Read Blizzard's end-of-beta post.
How beta access worked
The Skyborne Epic Pack and Warcraft Forever Collection included beta access. Blizzard also invited selected testers, so buying a pack wasn't the only way in. The September 17 beta announcement laid out both routes.
What you need for launch
Forever is included with a WoW subscription or Game Time. The optional upgrades add benefits: the Skyborne Heroic Pack or higher unlocks the Skyborne race and Zephras Isle starting experience. The Epic Pack and Forever Collection also include 30 days of Game Time, added on November 4. Blizzard's edition breakdown lists the contents.
You can reserve names now
Early name reservation runs October 27 through November 3 for eligible digital upgrade or Collector's Edition purchases. You can create three characters total across all rulesets during this window. Names go to whoever claims them first, and the benefit applies to the WoW account that received the purchase. See Blizzard's reservation guide for the steps.
