Campfires give your professions a place on the road
Blizzard's camping guide covers shared buffs, profession-made camp features and the one-minute stop you'll need before heading back out.
Cooking fires have more going on in Forever. Blizzard's October 21 camping guide explains how a Basic Campfire becomes a shared stop for profession buffs and a bit of downtime between quests.
A basic fire holds three camp features, with each nearby player contributing one. Sit or craft there for at least a minute to pick up their benefits. A blacksmith's Sharpening Wheel adds Strength, while an herbalist's Incense Candle adds Intellect. These buffs don't stack with their matching class buffs.
You start learning the system through an early quest. The first profession features become available at skill 20, through starter-zone quests or trainers. Later Cooking upgrades let a fire hold five or ten features, so there's room for a bigger gathering.
Just watch where you stop. A campfire doesn't make the area safe, especially on a PvP ruleset.
